The pre-enrolment period for municipal music schools for the 2025-2026 academic year is open until 8 May. A total of 626 places are being offered for the coming year around the city’s five municipal music schools.
What options are available at municipal music schools for the coming year?
The city’s five municipal music schools (EMM Can Fargues, EMM Can Ponsic, EMM Eixample – Joan Manuel Serrat, EMM Nou Barris and EMM Sant Andreu – Mestre Pich Santasusana) are offering a total of 626 places for new students for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The pre-enrolment period, open until 8 May, is for long-term programmes and year-long workshops, including different instruments, styles, instrumental groups and choir singing. In all, the five centres are offering 2,525 places for the 2025-2026 year.
The shortest activities offered by municipal music schools include music with the family, music for babies, introduction to group instrumentals, listening, movement and memory, drums and percussion and more. In all, there are 260 places for the coming year. Pre-enrolment will be throughout the year via the centres’ websites.
How to pre-enrol?
Online, from 29 April to 8 May, via the websites for the various schools, which can be found at ajuntament.barcelona.cat/educacio.
In person, at the municipal music school where the place is being applied for, during the hours of the secretary’s office shown on the website.

- Pre-enrolment: from 29 April to 8 May
- Publication of the list of those pre-enrolled on the website of each music school: 13 May, from 5 pm
- Call for musical exercises for students aged from 8 upwards: 14 to 27 May
- Publication of students admitted: 10 June, from 5 pm
- Period for formalising enrolment for newly admitted students: 11 to 26 June
People can also apply to be on waiting lists for places that become available during the 2025-2026 academic year.
