Educational leisure. The strategy will have funding of 1.6 million euros.
The city’s 127 educational leisure organisations are set to gain from a new plan worth 1.6 million euros, benefitting nearly 11,000 children and teenagers.
The new plan to strengthen community based educational associations 2025-2027 has 17 specific actions based around three goals: facilitating access to educational leisure, promoting recognition and improving the everyday activity of youth clubs and groups.
The plan recognises the fundamental role of educational leisure organisations in creating a fairer, more inclusive and cohesive city, as well as their contribution to the personal growth of children, teenagers and young people, promoting key values such as volunteering, commitment, participation, coexistence, critical thought and the exercise of democratic rights.
Barcelona’s educational leisure sector includes 127 organisations, with 53 scouts and guides groups, plus 74 youth clubs and groups. Between them, they benefit 10,567 children and teenagers and have 2,299 young monitors or leaders.
