History. A programme of cultural activities intended to raise awareness of the city’s documentary heritage and the professionals responsible for its management.
Coinciding with International Archives Day on 9 June, the Barcelona Municipal Archive is organising a week of activities to raise awareness of the importance of its archives in promoting administrative transparency, preserving historical memory and protecting the rights of citizens to access information and knowledge.
Until 19 June, a series of exhibitions, conferences, speeches, workshops and guided tours
will take place at different documentary centres across the Catalan capital: the Historical Archive of Barcelona, the Barcelona Contemporary Municipal Archives and the Photographic Archive of Barcelona; the municipal archives of the Ciutat Vella, Eixample, les Corts, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Sant Martí districts; the Esquerra de l’Eixample–Agustí Centelles and Sarrià–J.V.Foix libraries; and the La Sedeta and Casa Golferichs civic centres.
The activities are free of charge.
