Cinema. A dissident, feminist and passionate film event that contributes to the recovery, expansion and reorganization of the multiple histories of cinema made by women.
The films featured in the 33rd Barcelona International Women's Films Festival (MIFDB) champion cinema as a language through which to explain the world beyond the abyss.
This year's programme includes stories of the past, present and future that break all narrative pacts and defy the narrowness of the patriarchal imagination. Together we will ask ourselves: what re-readings do we collectively write? Through rhizomatic visual archives, queer bricolage works and the practice of filming as an act of empathy, the directors of these films will be preparing possible answers to this question.
