
Cultural policies. A space for debate and exchanging local and international experiences and reflections, and for collectively thinking about the role of culture in constructing today’s societies.
The Àgora Cívica meeting is being held from 26 September to 1 October as part of Mondiacult 2025, the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development.
The initiative aims the strengthen culture’s central role in the global agenda and gauge citizen participation and the plurality of opinions and experiences, the intention being to boost culture as a tool for social change.
Participating in the event will be important international figures such as Alexandra Xanthaki, UN special rapporteur on cultural rights, Patrice Meyer-Bisch, promoter of the Freiburg Declaration on Cultural Rights, Justin O'Connor, professor at the University of South Australia and author of Culture is not an industry; Sneška Quaedvlieg–Mihailović, general secretary of Europa Nostra, Lars Ebert, general secretary of Culture Action Europe, and others.
The Àgora Cívica programme includes round tables, lectures, debates, presentations, participatory sessions and much more.
